Romney on Tax Policy

Mitt RomneyWords: Romney opposes any new or increased taxes and opposes rolling back the Bush administration’s tax cuts. He wants to end taxes on interest, dividends, and capital gains, but finds serious flaws with the FairTax proposal.

Actions: As governor, Romney lowered taxes (but raised fees) in Massachusetts. He has signed a pledge to oppose any increase in marginal tax rates.
