Withdrawn / Paul on the Environment
Words: Paul believes that polluters are aggressors should be held accountable, but feels that environmental legislation, such as emissions standards, should be handled between and among the states. “We also face another danger in regulatory takings: through excess regulation, governments deprive property owners of significant value and use of their properties.”
Actions: Paul has voted AGAINST forest thinning projects (2003), FOR the prohibition of funding for a Yucca Mountain web site (2006), and AGAINST restoring funding to AMTRAK (2006). The League of Conservation Voters has given him a rating of 5%.
