Withdrawn / Paul on Drug Policy

Ron PaulWords: Paul feels that most federal drug laws should be repealed and argues that the “war on drugs” has been a total failure, that drug enforcement unfairly targets inner-city blacks. “We don’t have to have more courts and more prisons. We need to repeal the whole war on drugs. It isn’t working. We have already spent over $400 billion since the early 1970s, and it is wasted money.”

Actions: Paul voted AGAINST subjecting federal employees to random drug tests and AGAINST military border patrols to battle drug traffic. The National Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors has given him a rating of 55%. VOTE-HEMP has given him an “A”.
