Withdrawn / Edwards on Foreign Policy
Words: Edwards believes the US should lead an international effort on economic development and that our aid should support open countries. He advocates a no-fly zone in Darfur, strengthening sanctions on Iran, and UN intervention in Iran. “The world has to see America as a force for good again.”
Actions: Edwards voted AGAINST capping foreign aid at $12.7 billion (1999), FOR tabling an amendment that would impose sanctions if China sells WMD (2000), and FOR enlarging NATO to include Eastern Europe (2002).
