Words: Biden generally supports gun control and feels that we should not have let the assault weapons ban lapse. He also supports closing the “gun show loop-hole”.
Actions: Biden voted AGAINST allowing guns to be sold without trigger locks (1998), AGAINST loosening license and background checks at gun shows (1999), AGAINST increased mandatory penalties for gun violations (1999), FOR background checks at gun shows (1999), and AGAINST prohibiting lawsuits against firearm manufacturers for gun violence (2004 & 2005).
