Withdrawn / Biden on the Budget & Spending
Words: Biden supports a balanced budget amendment. He believes we should invest in new programs by ending the war in Iraq and eliminating the Bush administration tax cuts. He also feels there should be more transparency for hedge funds and private equity funds. He feels the Federal Reserve should lower interest rates across the board and calls for the repeal of tax breaks on investment dividends.
Actions: Biden voted FOR a balanced budget constitutional amendment (1997), AGAINST making national debt reduction a lower priority than tax cuts (2000), and AGAINST a $40 billion reduction in overall spending (2005).
