Actions: As governor of Arkansas, Huckabee helped create a state surplus by cutting spending. He also adopted the National Governors Association policy on bankruptcy reform to give state claims parity with federal claims.

Update: Gov. Huckabee’s earlier statements on this issue still reflect his views. No controversies have arisen with regard to his positions.
