Words: Huckabee supports the individual right to bear arms for self-protection and “as a matter of principle”. He also supports “concealed carry” rights. “There is an absolute right that people have to protect themselves and even their property.”

Actions: As governor of Arkansas, he promoted “castle doctrine” legislation supporting the use of deadly force in self-defense.

Update: Gov. Huckabee’s earlier statements on this issue still reflect his views. No controversies have arisen with regard to his positions.
