Withdrawn / Clinton on Jobs & Unemployment
Words: Clinton believes that standing up for the worker will help us compete in the global economy. She feels we should support unions to guarantee fair wages and good working conditions. She has also proposed that the minimum wage be tied to congressional salaries and has lobbied for a higher “living wage”.
Actions: Clinton voted AGAINST repealing the ergonomic rules on repetitive stress (2001), FOR raising the minimum wage to $7.25 (2005 & 2007), and FOR restricting employer interference in union organizing (2007). The AFL-CIO has given her a rating of 85%.
