Withdrawn / Giuliani on Energy Policy
Words: Giuliani accepts that humans contribute to global warming, but opposes the Kyoto Protocol. He supports pursuing alternative sources of energy, including nuclear power and clean coal. “We should get serious about why we haven’t licensed a new nuclear power plant in 30 years because people are afraid of nuclear power. … Nuclear power is dangerous, so is every other form of power, but nobody’s died from nuclear power.” He advocates “an Apollo program” (one of the 2008 campaign’s favorite buzzwords so far) to achieve energy independence.
Actions: No record.
UPDATE: In this Exeter, NH Town Hall event Rudy acknowledged Global Warming, didn’t see it as an emergency, and put his faith in nuclear power as a means to solve global warming.
