Words: Kucinich believes that quality education is a core American right. He feels “No Child Left behind” should be ended and that we should not be “a nation of test-takers”. He advocates free education from pre-kindergarten through college and that sex education should be taught in schools, including AIDS prevention.

Actions: Kucinich voted AGAINST vouchers for private schools (1997), AGAINST allowing vouchers in DC schools (1998), FOR requiring states to test students (2001), AGAINST allowing school prayer during the “war on terror” (2001), FOR grants for black and Hispanic colleges (2006), and AGAINST allowing the courts to decide on “God” in the Pledge of Allegiance (2006).
